The Holiday Party

aka The Best Worst Idea

You basically have to attend this event. Then, you are given drink tickets, so you basically have to drink. I mean, it would be rude not to accept this gift from your employer. You have a few drinks and you see your boss...you have to say hello. Which, if you just said hello you'd be fine. But, those drinks don't want to stop there. Oh, no. They have kicked the nerves and opened the floodgates. Fifteen minutes later, he or she is thanking you for all of your hard work on that tough project nobody wants to work on. You're welcome, boss.

Party ends. You go home. All is well, right? WRONG! It's only Thursday, because your company wanted to save some money on renting a place on a weekday. I mean, more people would attend if they had it on a Thursday night, right? Sure.

That alarm comes bright and early Friday morning. It's time to head to work, 30 minutes late and start the awkward, "Well, last night was fun." small talk. Three cups of coffee, one long lunch break, evening tea and you're home free. Until next year...
